Apple Hardware Review MacBook Pro 2011

Apple Hardware Review; the MacBook Pro 2011

Apple manufacturers have a lot of computer hardware and software available in the market. These products range from personal computers (P.Cs) such as Laptops, different types of phones such as the Iphone and also peripheral devices. It is important for consumers, to have information about these products prior to purchasing them. Below is a review on Apple’s current (2011) hardware device, the MacBook Pro 2011:

The MacBook pro 15 and 17 inch have been described as being the work houses of all 2011 MacBook Pros. This is because these laptop models have been designed with professionals in mind especially mobile professionals. They have fast processors, high performance dual graphics and they can receive I/O updates. These features make these laptops very effective for mobile professionals.

Both MacBooks, the 17 inch and 15 inch pro, have processors known as the Intel Quad-Core i7. The 15inch has 3 processors options, two of which have of 6Mb of L3 shared cache. These are the 2.0 and the 2.2 GHz Intel Quad i7 processors. The third processor is built on order, depending on the end users preferences. The 2011, 17 inches MacBook has the 2.2 and 2.3GHz of the same processor used in the same 15 inch Apple laptop of the same year.

These processors (Intel Quad) used in these two Apple products; provide several hubs of speed and they also support the Turbo boost from Intel. The Turbo boost can increase the MacBook pro processors speed, up to 3.4 GHz. Both the 15 inch and the 17 inch Mac pro 2011, also have anti glare display option or a glossy display.
The MacBooks can be configured with Solid State Drives (SSDs), and they both have the Thunderbolt I/O port. These devices ensure that the laptops have access to any necessary data. This Thunderbolt port is a new high speed port that can handle both data and video, it can operate at up to 10Gbps bidirectional (data can be sent and received at the same speed, at the same time). The speeds on the new 2011 Mac models can double the processing speeds of the 2010 models.

The Dual Graphic processors in the MacBook Pro 2011, include the HD Graphics 3000 and the HD 6750M. The HD Graphics 3000 is responsible for handling the basic graphic requirements of the Mac 2011, while the HD 6750M handles more complex graphic needs. The Mac pro 2011 switches itself automatically from one graphic processor to the other when it is needed. This ‘automatically switching’ allows the Macs to save up on battery life expect when it is only necessary.

When it comes to a choice between the 15 and the 17 inch models, the only distinction is their screen resolution. The 15 inch is smaller which makes it much lighter than the 17 inch, while the 17 inch has a gorgeous display. Both MacBooks pro have similar performance so the choice is really about price and the desired type size of screen.
